The End Times & Spiritual Insight from Twitter 5/22/10

Let me tweet for a minute about the end times. I believe more spiritual insight (or revelation) will be released to the church first & then to the world about the end times. It will not be added to the Scriptures but rather the Scriptures will confirm the insight/revelation.

I draw everything from the Scripture so let me show you. From the book of Daniel, we have gained our understanding of the end times from the overview that was given to Daniel. But I want to draw your attention to Daniel 12:8-9. Daniel was perplexed about what he was told and when he asked the angel about it, his response was “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed UNTIL THE TIME OF THE END.” What he was telling Daniel was the information is not for you but for another generation. That information is meant for our time, the end. We have pieces to the puzzle but the Lord has not filled us in on all the details. We’re in error if we believe we have everything figured out.

Now lets go to 2 Corinthians 12. Paul spoke of visions and revelations “he” received when he was caught up to heaven. He heard inexpressible things, things that man is not permitted to tell. Think for a second. Why would the Lord take him to heaven & allow him to hear these things? I’ll let you meditate on it. But I believe part of the reason was to strengthen Paul in his ministry. A powerful encounter with the Lord coupled with revelation empowers your faith in the Lord. Also it changed the way Paul spoke because he was speaking/writing from a position of revelation that others had not received. Look at what Peter said:

2 Peter 3:15-16

“Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.”

I said all of that to say I believe man will be given permission to release what has been heard in & from Heaven. Paul was allowed to hear these things because it would strengthen him in his mission but I also believe what he heard was not for his time but for the end. I believe it was the role of the church in the end times and the preparation of the Bride for the return of the Bridegroom. Pay attention to the writings of Paul.

Lastly Revelation 10. John is having the ultimate revelation about the end times and he was commissioned to write it down for our benefit. Now picking up at verse 4 the angel spoke and the seven thunders began to speak and look what happened:

“And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven say, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said and do not write it down.”

Here it is again, similar to what Paul experienced, John heard things that he couldn’t write down. Why? Once again I am a firm believer the the Lord has insight that will be released over this generation (confirmed by the Scriptures) and for a particular purpose which is tied into the end times and the return of Jesus. Psalm 33:11 says:

“But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.”

The Lord has plans & a purpose for each generation and insight/revelation is released as it applies to the time. Since we’re at the end I believe the Body of Christ is about to receive much needed revelation and we’ll be seeing and experiencing the true power of the Lord like you see in the Bible.

Jesus said in Luke 8:18 “Therefore consider carefully how you listen…” so before you pick up your stone & get your fingers ready to articulate a rebuttal, I’m asking you meditate on what was given and search the Scriptures and ask the Holy Spirit for understanding. Like I said earlier we think we have the Lord figured out but He always has a way to show us that we haven’t even scratched the surface of truly knowing Him.

Have a good day!
